I crave the smell of “new”. Whether it’s a new car, new shoes, a new book, or a new perfume, I love the feeling of freshness it brings. Heck (says every Mormon from Utah), new underwear? Literally the greatest thing to experience. I’m also a huge fan of new beginnings.
How many of you believe in second chances? How many of you believe in forgiveness? How many of you believe in the opportunity to start a new path of self-improvement and self-motivation? As I was laying in bed, waiting for DoorDash to deliver my pizza, I realized I’ve hit an all time low. (Not that laying in bed with pizza is a low point) My all time low is the fact that I am not happy with who I am and how I feel. I complain every single day about the struggles I encounter and 90% of the time, it’s my fault.
Don’t get me wrong, I still plan on enjoying the carb-loaded cheesy goodness of the art that we call pizza. I manage a pizza restaurant for goodness sake. But why am I unhappy? It’s the habits that I have built. BAD HABITS. Remember when I was a college athlete who weighed 30 lbs less than I do now? I’m trying to! The past is the past. What matters is today and how we plan to move forward towards tomorrow and the happiness it brings.
As I sat and pondered next to my pepperoni pizza, I realized my issue. I am not doing anything about it. That’s the issue. I am making no effort to better myself and my situation. So here I am, joining the millions of bloggers, hoping to not only better myself, but to help you find the motivation to better yourself as well. Let’s begin our journey to healing and happiness, shall we? Let’s begin today in order to have a better tomorrow. One small step at a time.
What will we do tomorrow to be better? I’m going to set my alarm an hour earlier, hoping to get up a half an hour before my usual time. Why? BREAKFAST IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY. Get up, blend some greens (i’ll probably hit up Ivie Juice Bar in Provo. It’s literally fantastic. I’m also not affiliated with them.) and start your day right. Maybe i’ll even do a few squats and sit-ups. WHO KNOWS?? The possibilities are endless. Let’s take tomorrow by storm!
